Lane Departure Warning (LDW) continuously monitors lanes on the road and alerts the driver to deviation. Distractions or fatigue turn attention away from the road, LDW can be programmed to alert the driver to unintentional lane departure. Making use of various alarm options (audible alarm, lights, HUD display, vibration), the driver can refocus attention and take corrective action.

Like other products in the ADAS suite, LDW makes use of a windshield mounted camera. Video analytics running the software automatically detect lanes on the road and calculate the appropriate distance between the sides of the car and lane markings.
